Yogacharya Bharath Shetty was born on 19th March 1979, in Udupi, a town in South Karnataka, India. He started practicing Yoga at an early age, and was further drawn to the practice after he experienced the alleviation of the chronic asthma he suffered from. He is married to Archana Shetty, also a Yoga practitioner, and they are blessed with two beautiful daughters – Aajna and Abhijna.    He has 21 years of rich yoga experience. He first started practicing under the supervision of Yogacharya Kumara in Shantivana Trust, a Yoga and Naturopathy Center. He decided to become a professional yoga teacher in order to pursue his passion and use his immense knowledge to spread the benefits of Yoga to the World.   For this he trained under world renowned Yoga Guru – Padma Vibhushan B.K.S. Iyengar, in Pune, India, which helped further deepen his knowledge and insight of Yoga.    He is a certified Yoga Teacher by the Indian Yoga Institutes, Vivekananda Kendra, Bangalore (A-Grade) and International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, Trivandrum (Grade-Excellent) and was awarded with Yoga Siromani and Yogacharya titles on completion of his training. He is the winner of Himalaya Yoga Olympiad (Indian National Yoga Championship) Haridwar and Bangalore  in 1998 and 2001, respectively.    Bharath is well known for his teachings and is the Director of the world recognized Yoga training school “Aananda Yoga India” where he has trained 500+ teachers across the globe. Bharath employs his own methodology and yoga system “Indea Yoga” to all his teachings.  Every year he visits different parts of the world to hold yoga workshops in countries including Belgium, Germany, Malaysia, Switzerland, Thailand, Indonesia, Spain.   Across India he has also conducted many workshops in local studios and also in the corporate sector, for companies including Union Bank of Switzerland, Google, Wipro, Oracle, ANZ Information Technologies, and Theorem. Bharath was also a presenter at the 2014 International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India.   He is also the Managing Trustee of his own Charitable Trust, Indea Foundation, which provides education scholarships to underprivileged children in India.      During the early days of his yogic path, Bharath founded his first yoga studio “Creative Yoga Center at Bangalore in 1998.  In 2004 he relocated to  Gokulam, Mysore (India’s Yoga Hub) and re-christened his yoga school as “Yoga India”, then renaming it “Aananda Yoga India”, where he continues to provide regular Yoga Teachers Training Certification courses.  Aananda Yoga India is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance, USA. Bharath also established a second shala in 2012, in Gokulam, Mysore (diagonally opposite the coconut stand, above the TVS showroom on Contour Road).  Yoga Bharata is a not-for-profit shala. It was established to provide yoga to the local community, but also welcomes any visitors who swing by.  Any profits generated from Yoga Bharata and Bharath Shetty’s workshops are donated to INDEA Foundation Charitable Trust.  In 2014, the yogic system developed and employed by Bharath Shetty at Aananda Yoga India and Yoga Bharata shalas was rebranded to “IndeaYoga”.    Bharath lives a yogic lifestyle and is always an inspiration to others. The philosophy of his system “IndeaYoga” is health and bliss for all.  Bharath’s teaching skills include an amazing flexibility to teach a broad range of students from absolute beginner level to advanced yoga teachers and practitioners.
